We had about 300 people attend the event and wish to say THANK YOU to everyone who attended the event and helped to make it a very successful event. Thanks to everyone who helped set this event up.
LL 2171 Celebrates the IAM’s 125th Anniversary
Members of LL 2171 celebrated the 125 anniversary of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers with red, white and blue cupcakes on May 6th, at Lockheed Martin Aerospace Inc., located in Johnstown PA. The cupcakes, bought by the Local, were handed during breaks.
Brother Ronald R. Shirey passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2013
Brother Ronald R. Shirey passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2013. Ron was the District Lodge 98 Secretary-Treasurer until his accident in September 2012.
Ron was a member of Local Lodge 243. Ron held numerous positions with Local Lodge 175 prior to his retirement from Harley-Davidson Motor Company where he was a Tool and Die Maker. He had been a delegate to Grand Lodge Conventions, Pennsylvania State Council of Machinists Conventions, District Lodge 98,
York Adams County Central Labor Council. After his retirement he transferred his membership to Local Lodge 1985 which later merged into Local Lodge 243.
The Funeral Service is Saturday February 9, 2013 in York, Pa. The Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

District Lodge 98 Business Representatives Re-Elected
District Lodge 98 Business Representatives were all reelected for a four (4) year term. The Delegates to the January 19, 2013 District Lodge 98 meeting unanimously re-elected the Business Representatives. In accordance with the District by-laws the Business Representatives then elected Tom Santone as their Directing Business Rep. (DBR)
DBR Tom Santone has appointed Todd Fichera as Assistant Directing Business Representative (ADBR)
Congratulations to all the Business Representatives in their re-election.
