Tom Santone – receives United Way Labor Participation Award

Tom Santone, Directing Business Representative-District Lodge 98 and President York-Adams County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.
Tom Santone has been a Labor and community leader and an AFL-CIO Community Services volunteer for several decades. He began his union career as a member of the Machinists’ Union (I.A.M.A.W.) in 1976. He held various leadership positions with the union including Shop Steward, Secretary Treasurer, Local Lodge and District President and Organizer for District 1. In 1997, Tom came to York to begin his career as a business representative for District 98, which is headquartered in York. District 98 covers a large geographical area of the State.
In May 2009, Tom was elected Directing Business Representative of District 98, which is a demanding leadership position. Tom is a member of Local Lodge 243 in York. He was elected President of the York/ Adams Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, in 2011 and is currently serving his third two year term. He is also an Executive Vice President of Central PA Labor Federation and PA Director for the Great Lakes Seaway Task Force.
Tom is a leadership giver with United Way of York County, has participated in numerous community service activities, and is a strong believer in the value of United Way for organized labor and the community.
